Chencai Gr
Type Locality and Naming
North-central Zhejiang. The Chencai Gr was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Zhejiang Bureau of Geology in 1975. The type locality is Chencai Village in Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Chencai Gr is composed of metamorphosed intermediate- basic volcano-sedimentary rocks. It was subdivided into four formations: Daojiuwan Fm(捣臼湾组), Xiahetu Fm (下河图组), Xiawuzhai Fm(下屋宅组)and Xu'an Fm(徐岸组)from bottom to top. A detailed description of the group is given respectively for each of those component formations. The Chencai Gr is 1680-2800 m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Its base is not seen.
Upper contact
The top is unconformably overlain by the Wuzao Fm [which seems to be late Triassic conglomerate.]. Regionally, the Chentangwu Fm would be the next older unit.
